Antique 9ct Gold Sardonyx Shell Classical Cameo Ring, Early 20thC

A beautiful antique, early 20th century, solid 9ct yellow gold cameo ring.

The cameo has been nicely carved with the portrait of a Classical lady, a very typical style of the Victorian era. A simple bezel setting and split shoulders makes this a very elegant and classic style ring. 

The shell used is sardonyx shell which has a brown toned background - for best example of colour please refer to the photos of ring on hand. In the other photos the shell looks slightly more pink toned due to the studio lights. 

The inside on the band has been stamped with '9ct' and 'CG&S' for Charles Green and Sons, a renowned and high quality jewellery maker founded in 1824 and who still operate today. 

Measurements: UK ring size P. US size 7.5. Cameo within setting measures approx 18mm x 14mm.

Condition: Very good condition for age. This is a very old hand made item, so will not look flawless. But the condition is far better than a lot of cameo rings we've seen, and only has very minor wear.
