Vintage 18ct Egyptian Gold Scarab Beetle Ring, 1946 - 47.

A beautiful vintage scarab beetle ring from Egypt in 18ct yellow gold.

The ring has been recently hallmarked in Birmingham to confirm 18ct gold. The original hallmarks can be seen in the last photo . The stamp on the left is for Cairo and 18ct gold. The Ibis bird in the centre is the gold mark for Egypt. The Arabic symbol on the right signifies the ring was hallmarked between the dates of 1st May 1946 and 30th June 1947.  

Measurements: UK ring size I 1/2. US size 4.5. Scarab measures 12mm.

Weight: 2.2g

Condition: Very good condition for age. This was most likely a handmade item - the join in the band is noticeable behind the scarab. The band is still nice and sturdy and believed to be original to the ring - it has the same Cairo 18ct gold stamp to the side.
