A vintage 9ct gold opening box charm with tiny engagement ring inside.
Engagement ring box charms became quite popular in the 60s and 70s. This is the most unique one we've found, with the box being oblong in shape and engraved with a lovely pattern to the lid. It is also the earliest that we've found, dating to 1952.
Measurements: 13mm x 8mm x 4mm
Weight: 1.9g
Hallmarks: The original hallmark is quite worn. Visible is the makers mark 'FM', the end of the '375' stamp. The top of the London stamp and the top of the letter 'R' for 1952. Also clearly visible is the coronation mark which was used in 1952 and 53. The charm has also recently been re-assayed in Birmingham to confirm the gold content.
Condition: Good vintage condition. You may find very small signs of age related wear.
